CURRENT PUPPY SITUATION
Each litter is carefully planned and puppies will live in the
middle of our everyday life. They are born in my working room and
after two weeks are moved to our large kitchen where they are
used to noises, cats and finally also to my other dogs. To me it
is very important that the puppies have lots of room to play and
move around. As soon as they are old enough we are also exploring
outside and even the goat house.
As a breeder, it is really important to me that my bitches can
handle and take care of the puppies right from the start. It
provides me an important information for the future. I believe
that there is no point of breeding puppies out of a champion, if
she has not the healthy, life full way of taking care of her
litter. My opinion is that as a breeder, we should also try to
breed capable and strong mothers, not only sound and nice looking
bitches. After all, bitch has a strong influence how her puppies
are going to be, see and take life as it comes.
If one were only to breed for conformation, then the job would be
a piece of cake. More important than breeding beautiful dogs,
perhaps, is to be able to breed good, happy and healthy dogs, who
can live a long, quality life.
Also I think that
dogs used in breeding should not only be good natured, but also
out of any allergies, odd inflammations ect. I am feeding my bred
bitches quality food along with different raw food like pork, cow
and salmon. Also puppies are getting different kind of food right
from the beginning so that they would be familiar to every kind of
substance. Because I believe that a good bitch can and should
teach several important things to her puppies before moving in to
a new home, all the puppies are ready to their new homes at age of
8 to 9 weeks.

AJANKOHTAISTA PENTURINTAMALLA
Jokainen pentueeni on tarkkaan harkittu ja
suunniteltu. En teetä pentuetta, jollen toivo saavani siitä
jotakin eteenpäin ja olenkin niitä ihmisiä, jotka viettävät suuren
osan ajasta suunnittelupöydän ääressä. Joskus kaikki ei mene
nappiin ja sitä varten minulla on takataskussa läjä
varasuunnitelmia. Pentueella tulisi olla sopivan tasainen "aura"
ja tällä tarkoitan sukupolvien yli vievää kriittistä tarkastelua.
Yksi tärkeimmistä kriteereistäni on se, että tunnen sukutaulun
koiria mahdollisimman monia henkilökohtaisesti, mutta ainahan tämä
ei ole mahdollista. Yritän pitää kasvatustyöni pienimuotoisena,
joten pentuja syntyy 1-2 kertaa vuodessa, joskus jopa harvemmin.
Pentuni syntyvät työhuoneeseen rakentamassani pentulaatikossa.
Siellä niillä ja emolla on rauhallinen oma huone, jossa itsekin
vietän paljon aikaa työskennellessäni tietokoneella. Noin kahden
viikon iässä pennut siirtyvät isoon keittiöön, missä ne tottuvat
laumamme ääniin, kissoihin ja vieraileviin ihmisiin. Minulle on
tärkeää, että pennuilla on paljon tilaa liikkua ja oleskella.
Kasvettuaan pennut saavat valvotusti juoksennella koko puolen
hehtaarin aidatulla tontilla ja tutustua tilan muuhun elämään.
Pentuni luovutetaan pentuekohtaisesti aikaisintaan 8 viikon iässä.
Etsin pennuille aidosti rodusta kiinnostuneita ja aktiivisia
ihmisiä. Minulle ei ole se ja sama missä pentuni asuvat ja elävät,
joten toivon saavani tutustua tuleviin pennunostajiin jo hyvissä
